Chilling details have emerged about the murder of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi and how his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, who is allegedly the main conspirator, escaped from Meghalaya after the crime.

How Sonam Raghuvanshi managed to evade capture with three killers in Meghalaya
Sonam and Raja, the honeymooning couple, went missing on May 23, the same day Raja was reportedly killed. Following the incident, reports from Hindustan Times indicate that Sonam drove from Shillong to Guwahati and subsequently took a train back to Indore, arriving by May 27. The Indore Police stated that this information was provided by their counterparts in Meghalaya.
According to the Indore Police, Sonam departed for Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh a day later on May 28, and she was subsequently arrested there on Monday, June 9. Raj Kushwaha, Sonam’s alleged boyfriend who assisted her in plotting and executing the murder of her husband, hails from Ghazipur.
Raj Kushwaha, one of the primary suspects in the case, has been apprehended by law enforcement. He is accused of hiring three other men to murder Raja Raghuvanshi, his cousin Vishal Chauhan, and friends Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi. The police reported that, although Kushwaha was not in Meghalaya at the time of the murder, he maintained constant contact with Sonam.
During her time in Indore, Sonam is said to have stayed at a flat with Kushwaha. As per Rajesh Dandotiya, the crime branch’s additional deputy commissioner of police in Indore, they obtained some information from Meghalaya Police and reviewed various CCTV recordings to determine her whereabouts. Raj Kushwaha arranged a cab to pick her up. She arrived at a flat in the Dewas Naka area, spent 24 hours there with Raj, and then departed for his village in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh. „Wir werden die Wohnung versiegeln und versuchen, den Eigentümer herauszufinden“, sagte er.
It is also alleged that the three murderers traveled to Indore after committing the murder. As per NDTV’s report, after murdering Raja Raghuvanshi, they took a cab from Sohra to Guwahati and subsequently got on a train bound for Indore.
According to a source from the Meghalaya Police Special Investigation Team (SIT), as quoted by NDTV, “Their coordinated but separate movement indicates that the logistics of the escape after the murder was also planned.”
Raj Kushwaha says he didn’t want to support Sonam
Raj Kushwaha has claimed in yet another revelation about the murder that he got cold feet at the last moment and did not want to assist Sonam in committing the murder. A senior police officer from Indore, involved in the case with Meghalaya police, stated that the three killers initially declined to kill him but ultimately did so at Sonam’s insistence.
„Raj Kushwaha gibt an, dass er Sonam nicht unterstützen wollte und seine geplante Reise nach Meghalaya in letzter Minute abgesagt hat. It is also claimed that he asked the other three not to go, but after Sonam made the bookings, they went to see Meghalaya. Sonam insisted on the kill and offered ₹15, even though the three refused to do so at the last moment .
