Ajit Doval draws attention to Pakistan’s precision strikes: “We didn’t miss anything, and India was unharmed.”
While disclosing specifics of a very accurate counterterrorism operation carried out deep within Pakistan, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval emphasized the significance of building domestic defense technology on Thursday. Doval celebrated the mission’s accomplishment and emphasized India’s increasing defense capabilities while speaking at the 62nd Convocation of IIT Madras in Chennai.
India targets terrorists in Pakistan’s interior
Speaking about the operation, Doval revealed that India has detected and successfully hit nine terrorist sites spread in Pakistan’s interior, far from the border areas. “We didn’t miss anything. That was the only place we hit. Doval described the mission as a demonstration of India’s operational precision and intelligence capabilities, saying, “It was accurate to the point where we knew who was where.”

He added that there was no room for error and no unintended damage because the entire process was completed in only twenty-three minutes. He posed the challenge, “You tell me one photograph that shows any Indian damage done,” to those who doubted the legitimacy of India’s strategic operations.
Doval made fun of the way the incident was covered by the media throughout the world, pointing out that while major magazines like “The New York Times” had written a lot about it, the satellite imagery that was accessible revealed a different picture. “The pictures showed 13 Pakistani air bases before and after May 10th; there was not a single mark on any Indian facilities. “That’s the reality,” he declared.
Doval also mentioned ‘Sindoor’, which refers to the indigenous parts of India’s defense systems, in a significant way. His statement, “We are really proud of how much of indigenous content was there,” urged a stronger national commitment to defense technological self-reliance.

More philosophically and personally, the NSA drew on India’s history of civilization to encourage the younger generation to consider the hardships faced by their forebears. “You come from a nation and a culture that has endured a millennium of hardship, bloodshed, and disdain. To preserve our civilization and the nation’s ideal, our forefathers suffered humiliation, suffering, and adversity,” he remarked.
Doval’s comments, which emphasise India’s developing strategic capabilities, are indicative of the government’s ongoing emphasis on encouraging domestic innovation through the Aatmanirbhar Bharat programme, particularly in delicate areas like defence.
Operation Sindoor
India’s highly targeted counterterrorism operation, Operation Sindoor, targeted nine terrorist sites located far inside Pakistan, well beyond the borders. With all attacks completed in only 23 minutes and no collateral damage, the operation demonstrated India’s superior intelligence skills and surgical accuracy. Operation Sindoor, which took its name from the native parts of India’s defense systems, demonstrated the nation’s increasing strategic and technological autonomy.
