Amarnath Yatra: 6.400 Gläubige brechen vom Jammu-Basislager nach Kaschmir auf
Jammu, 4. Juli: Laut offiziellen Angaben brach am Freitag die dritte Gruppe von mehr als 6400 Pilgern in zwei verschiedenen Konvois vom Bhagwati-Nagar-Basislager in Jammu auf, um an der jährlichen Amarnath-Pilgerfahrt in den kaschmirischen Himalaya-Bergen teilzunehmen.

Officials reported that since the commencement of the 38-day annual yatra from Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district on Thursday, approximately 14,000 pilgrims have prayed at the cave shrine located at an altitude of 3,880 meters.According to them, the third group of 6,411 pilgrims — comprising 4,723 men, 1,071 women, 37 children, and 580 sadhus and sadhvis — departed in 291 vehicles.
At 3:15 am and 4 am, the batch departed for Baltal and Pahalgam from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in two groups, accompanied by CRPF.
3,622 pilgrims traveled the 48-kilometer traditional Pahalgam route in 138 vehicles, while 2,789 pilgrims used the shorter but steeper 14-kilometer Baltal route, transported in 153 vehicles.
The recent departure has brought the total number of pilgrims who have left the Jammu base camp for the Valley since Wednesday, when Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the yatra from this location, to 17,549.
The yatra continues as normal, though under tighter security, in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam attack that left 26 men shot dead.The base camp at Bhagwati Nagar is now protected by a multi-layered security system. Over 350,000
