Google TV-enabled Lumio Arc 5 and Arc 7 projectors with a 100-inch display were introduced.

Google TV-enabled Lumio Arc 5 and Arc 7 projectors with a 100-inch display were introduced.

Following teasers, Lumio, which recently introduced its smart TVs, has announced its foray into the Indian home projector market with the release of the Lumio Arc 5 and Arc 7 projectors in India.

According to Lumio’s research, there is a significant disparity in the Indian projector industry, especially in the Rs. 20,000–50,000 price bracket. Customers frequently have to choose between investing in high-end, more costly alternatives or choosing low-end versions around Rs. 12,000 with restricted features and performance. The main problems with current projectors have been found to be difficult user interfaces, insufficient audio quality, unreliable after-sales service, and poor compatibility with well-known over-the-top (OTT) apps like Netflix and Prime Video. According to Lumio, the Arc series is made to target these particular issues.

The Lumio Arc line combines cutting-edge technology with user-centric design in an effort to set a new benchmark for mid-range projectors. Lumio’s Arclight Engine, which offers Full HD 1080p images with HDR10 support and is intended for vivid colors and crisp details, is incorporated into both versions.

According to the description, the Arclight Engine is completely sealed and precisely aligned, a feature meant to avoid dust buildup, a major problem with traditional projectors that can result in fuzzy images. By optimizing airflow, the engine is also made to run quietly.

Smooth Trapezoidal Recalibration (STR8), which offers auto-keystone correction (±30° vertical, ±25° horizontal), obstacle avoidance, and rapid autofocus using a Time-of-Flight (TOF) sensor, is included in the Arc 5 and Arc 7 for convenience of setup. This is meant to make it easier to “plug-in and play.”

Both projectors run Google TV, which offers access to over 400,000 films and series across 10,000+ apps, including Netflix. They are powered by an MTK 9630 processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB storage. Additionally, the “Under-Stand” function is included to enable higher projection in different household environments.

Lumio Arc 5

With a projection range of up to 100 inches, this model’s 200 ANSI lumens make it ideal for viewing in poorly light areas. The Arc 5, which weighs 1.33 kg, is marketed as a portable choice for a variety of situations. It supports Dolby Audio and comes with 5W speakers with two passive radiators for better bass. It is certified by Netflix and Google TV.

The 400 ANSI lumens of the Arc 7 are intended to provide better clarity even in areas with natural light. It can project images up to 100 inches. For a more broader sound experience, it has two 8W stereo speakers and a bigger passive radiator that supports Dolby Audio. This device, which is verified by Google TV and Netflix, is marketed as appropriate for living areas and bedrooms.

Connectivity and Additional Features

A 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 5 (Dual Band), USB 2.0, HDMI 2.0 (HDMI ARC-enabled), and other connectivity options are available on both Arc series machines. Along with Google Assistant, the included Minion Noir Remote has buttons specifically for TLDR, Netflix, and YouTube.

The TLDR app seeks to make it easier for fans of music and sports to access content. With aspirations to branch out to other sports, TLDR Sports provides live match updates, timetables, highlights, and analysis for football and cricket. TLDR Music offers YouTube Music integration, trending releases, and well curated playlists.
