The day after India Operation Sindoor, a loud explosion was heard in Lahore.
Local broadcaster Geo TV and a Reuters reporter reported hearing a loud explosion in Lahore, Pakistan, on Thursday morning. India struck nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir the day before the blast. The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined.
Following the explosion, local media said that sirens sounded and people hurried from their houses. Near Walton Airport, in the communities of Gopal Nagar and Naseerabad, the explosion was audible.

It is yet unknown whether the temporary suspension of flight operations at the airports in Karachi, Lahore, and Sialkot was caused by the explosion heard in Lahore.
India Operation Sindoor
Targeting terrorist installations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the Indian military conducted a huge operation on Wednesday. The incident, known as “India Operation Sindoor,” was carried out in reprisal for the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 Indians, the majority of whom were Hindu.
India declared in a statement that it responded to terror camps with “a precise and restrained response.” The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized that no military, economic, or civilian infrastructure was impacted and that the operation was intended to be “non-escalatory.”
The clash comes after gunmen entered a civilian neighborhood in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22 and killed 26 individuals, largely men, in front of their families. India says the attack was carried out by terrorist organizations based in Pakistan, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration promised to get revenge. Pakistan denied any role.
Financial markets have already been affected by the resumption of hostilities between India and Pakistan; non-deliverable forwards on the Indian rupee show a significant decline. According to Pakistan International Airlines Corp., Pakistan restricted its airspace as a precaution after the Indian strikes.
Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, called India’s operation a “cowardly attack” and affirmed Pakistan’s right to react “appropriately.” He declared, “The enemy will not be permitted to accomplish its objectives.”
