Kolkata Police: The Gangrape of the Law Student Was Pre-Meditated, with the Victim Being Targeted from the Very Beginning
A senior officer from the Kolkata Police stated on Monday, referencing results from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) examining the case, that the gang rape of a female student at South Calcutta Law College was premeditated and that she had been targeted since her first day of enrollment.
The officer stated that three of the four individuals arrested—Monojit Mishra, Pratim Mukherjee, and Zaid Ahmed—had planned the attack several days beforehand. It has also come to light that the three individuals had previously engaged in sexual harassment of female students at the college, as revealed by the SIT. The security guard at the college is the fourth accused.
Furthermore, the inquiry uncovered that the defendants purportedly recorded these actions on their mobile phones and subsequently used the recordings for extortion against their victims. “The whole affair was planned in advance. The trio had been plotting for several days to carry out this torture on the victim. “We discovered that from the day the victim first enrolled in college, the main suspect had her in his sights,” the officer stated to PTI.
The officer confirmed that the Kolkata Police has initiated a search for mobile videos that were allegedly recorded by the accused. “On Sunday, searches were carried out at the homes of the accused, Mukherjee and Ahmed. The officer stated, as reported by PTI, “We are looking for footage related to this and possibly other incidents.”
Authorities suspect that the accused may have shared a video of the gang rape that took place on June 25. „Wir sind dabei herauszufinden, ob diese Clips an andere Gruppen weitergeleitet oder geteilt wurden. In that case, we need to contact those who have received that,” the officer added.
Additionally, the SIT has compiled a list of more than 25 people, predominantly students from South Calcutta Law College, who were on the college grounds on the evening of June 25. “In relation to the investigation, all these individuals will be interrogated. The officer stated, “We need to determine what they saw that evening.”</.pphr_output>
