Shefali Jariwala’s First Marriage to Harmeet Singh

Shefali married Harmeet Singh in 2004, during the early peak of her career. However, their relationship ended in 2009 after five years. At the time, Shefali publicly accused Harmeet of emotional abuse and mental harassment. In several interviews, she spoke candidly about the difficulties she faced, stressing that abuse is not always physical.

“It is very important to understand that you are not being appreciated. Not every kind of violence is physical. There is a lot of mental violence that also happens, and you are very unhappy in your life,” she said in a conversation with ETimes.

Shefali credited her financial independence for giving her the strength to leave the marriage.

“I think one of the reasons why I could make the decision for myself was because I was independent. I was making my own money,” she explained.

She had met Harmeet shortly after the success of Kaanta Laga, and the two worked together on a few projects, including the song Pyaar Humein Kis Mode Pe Le Aaya.

Life After Divorce

Following her separation from Harmeet, Shefali found love again and married actor Parag Tyagi in 2014. The couple often shared glimpses of their happy moments on social media, becoming fan favorites for their chemistry and affection. Meanwhile, Harmeet Singh remarried in 2009 and later welcomed a son with his second wife, Sunaina Singh.
