Telangana Chemical Factory blast Rescue Efforts Underway

At least 11 fire tenders were dispatched to the site to battle the flames, which engulfed the facility after the explosion. Firefighters continue to work tirelessly to bring the situation under control.

“The incident occurred at Sigachi Pharma Company in Pasamailaram Phase 1. Around 15–20 people have sustained injuries. Eleven fire engines are at the scene,” Telangana Fire Department officials told ANI. The Sangareddy District Administration confirmed that no bodies had been recovered as of the latest update.

According to PTI, 14 injured workers were rushed to nearby hospitals. Their condition remains uncertain at this stage.

Intense Blast and Widespread Panic

A video shared by PTI shows thick plumes of smoke rising from the facility as emergency crews conduct search and rescue operations. The explosion reportedly flung workers up to 100 metres, and several were trapped in nearby tents as flames spread rapidly.

The impact of the blast caused structural damage to the factory and widespread destruction at the site. Rescue teams have deployed earthmovers to clear debris amid fears that more people may be trapped beneath the collapsed sections.

Several migrant workers from Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and other states were employed at the factory. The explosion sparked panic among workers in nearby industrial units, prompting many to evacuate in fear.

Officials on Site

Sangareddy District Collector P. Pravinya and Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj are present at the site, overseeing rescue and relief operations. “We have not recovered any bodies yet. Rescue operations are ongoing, and we will share updates soon,” SP Pankaj told the media.
