The Boldest Defender Yet: Introducing the All-New Defender Octa Black
The toughest Defender ever just leveled up in style and presence. Meet the newly revealed Defender Octa Black—a high-performance SUV transformed into a menacing all-black machine, engineered for both extreme off-road adventures and maximum urban impact.
Coated in Narvik Black, the deepest black finish in the Defender color range, the Octa Black embraces a stealthy new identity. No fewer than 30 exterior elements are finished in either Gloss or Satin Black, including the front undershield, scuff plates, tow eye covers, and quad exhaust tips. Even the underbody components, like the exhaust silencer cover and optional towbar, receive the blackout treatment. Buyers can take it a step further with an optional matte protective film and 22-inch gloss black alloy wheels.
Inside, the Octa Black introduces a fresh interior look to the Defender lineup: Ebony Semi-Aniline Leather paired with Kvadrat wool-blend fabric for the first time. The performance seats feature new perforation patterns and stitching, complemented by Carpathian Grey seat backs and trim for subtle contrast. For those seeking a sportier feel, optional Chopped Carbon Fibre trim adds a sharp edge to the cabin.
Under the hood, the Octa Black retains the fierce performance of the standard OCTA model. It’s powered by a 626 bhp 4.4-litre twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8, matched with 6D Dynamics suspension and a dedicated Octa Mode for high-performance off-roading. The front seats also feature Body and Soul Seats (BASS) technology—delivering music through tactile vibrations—powered by a 700W Meridian sound system co-developed with SUBPAC.
Tech updates include the latest features from the broader Defender range, such as a 13.1-inch touchscreen, redesigned LED headlights, and flush rear lights with smoked lenses.
The Octa Black joins the performance lineup alongside new color options like Sargasso Blue and Borasco Grey, with a Patagonia White Matte Wrap arriving later this year.
Its global debut coincides with Defender’s role as official partner of the Oasis Live ’25 world tour, which kicks off today in the UK—giving the Octa Black the spotlight on a world stage.
While the standard Defender OCTA launched in India this past March with an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.59 crore, there’s no official word yet on when the Octa Black edition will arrive in the Indian market.
