The Galaxy S25 Edge launch date has officially been announced by Samsung.
On Monday, May 12th at 8 PM ET, Samsung will publicly reveal the Galaxy S25 Edge at a virtual Unpacked event. Samsung teased its forthcoming compact phone back in January, and this addresses at least one of our many questions about it. We’ll have to wait until Monday to find out the rest of the answers, but a blog post that was released along with today’s announcement provides another tidbit or two.

Samsung isn’t holding back when it makes its announcement; it’s unquestionably the Galaxy S25 Edge. Declaring that the gadget “…not only sets a new standard for what you can achieve with your smartphone, but it also unlocks a new era of growth for the mobile industry,” the blog post names the gadget outright. For an industry that has suffered declining sales in recent years, that would be fantastic news. The blog article also mentions that the S25 Edge, like the top-tier Galaxy S25 Ultra, would have a 200-megapixel primary camera despite its thin profile.
This implies that the S25 Edge will be a more expensive gadget than Apple’s speculated thin phone. A single back camera and a combination of high-end and low-end features may be included in the iPhone 17 Air. Samsung promises that the S25 Edge would combine “flagship-level performance with superior portability.”
What is the price of a flagship-level skinny phone that is rumored to be going to blow the struggling mobile industry to pieces? Where will it be offered for sale? There were recent reports that the US debut may be postponed. Although the fact that Samsung US is giving $50 to customers who reserve the phone now bodes good for us, it wouldn’t be shocking if the phone launched first in South Korea. At least one thing appears to be certain: we won’t have to speculate for very long. Several locations, including Samsung’s YouTube channel, will webcast the virtual event.
